Colour from Black, ongoing long-term series from The Quiet, started when I began to revisit the moorland landscape and garden from my childhood and work in natural light again. Based on Goethe’s colour theory on the refraction of light from Black, the series explores the interrelationship with Nature: The connection of place with memory – impressions of childhood perception of Beauty, in response to landscape, flora and fauna.

2022/ 23: Self published a sequence, Hue from the series, Peripheral View, as an artist newspaper Edition of 50.

2024: Velvet Black and Archival work: In conversation with Jigsaw Ilkley from 10th August to the 1st September. Work included Grass being featured in the shop window for three weeks.

The Scape was featured from the shortlist for the Fotofilmic17 travelling exhibition, Physicality as Land connection.
14 meter square prints from the series Fog exhibited in the exhibition, The Romantic Landscape at The Noorderlicht House of Photography in the Netherlands and featured on Inside the Outside collective’s website autumn 2018.
The Tree, a finalist in The Charles Dodgson Award exhibited at The World Through My Eyes and at The 5th Biennial of Fine Art and Documentary Photography, Barcelona.
Damson Hawthorn and Phormium exhibited at Shutter Hub Open Newsprint exhibition in London and Amsterdam.
In October my self published book,Velvet Black launched at Impressions Photobook Fair, Bradford.

In February I was one of the speakers at the Redeye Network series of photographers’ talks at Leeds Art Gallery. I presented my series Velvet Black and Notes.
Hornbeam, The Reflection, Peripheral View was part of Shutter Hub’s exhibition at Cambridge University.
A selection of images from Velvet Black were part of the group show curated by Sian Bonnell,…on Making, exhibited at Gdansk Gallery of Photography, The National Museum, Poland.
From the series narrative I organised a one-day pop up workshop and invited Al Brydon Photography to collaborate on a Photowalk workshop, please see the subtitle, PhotoSketch – The Art of Walking. We collaborated on three Pop Ups in May, September and November in different northern locations.
From being nominated for the RPS 100 heroines I took part in their series of print room tours at the V&A in May 2019.

I was shortlisted for the Hariban Award 2019
Poa Trivialis from Velvet Black became a new Edition available through Field Editions. The work exhibited at their collection of editions at Expo Chicago Art Fair 2019.
In November I was invited by the artist Matthew Murray to collaborate on his series of workshops in association with Grain Photography Projects and The Arts Council.
February 05 to the 31st of May 2020 my first solo exhibition from the series, Velvet Black – Notes exhibited at the Garden Museum in London.
There were two talks for the exhibition for the Hundred Heroines organisation and the Photobook Club.
April 30th I participated in the four week Trace Charity Print Sale, which raised over £70,000 for the charities Crisis and Refuge.
In May I participated in Quarantine Herbarium, a cyanotype project to raise the awareness of plants.
During lockdown I also contributed to bloom magazine’s, Lockdown stories: homebound encounters with the natural world of ten people working in Nature, for their summer edition issue six.
